Context

PIXORAMA is more than a motion design symposium; it is a regional platform for the craft, imagination and future of screen-based creativity.

Its community sits across design, animation, motion graphics, digital culture and visual storytelling. That breadth made the platform exciting, but it also meant the story needed to be framed with precision.

For Southeast Asian audiences, the opportunity was to position PIXORAMA as a meeting point for creative practitioners rather than a conventional industry event.

Challenge

Motion design can be highly visible in everyday culture while remaining under-explained as a creative discipline.

The challenge was to make the symposium easy to understand to media and audiences who may recognise screen-based creativity in practice, but not always understand the people, techniques and thinking behind it.

RUBIX needed to carry PIXORAMA beyond event publicity by giving editors a stronger cultural reason to pay attention to its speakers, artists and regional creative relevance.

Our Thinking

We treated PIXORAMA as a cultural signal for the region's screen-based storytellers, not just as a programme of talks.

The communications strategy moved from event announcement to creative positioning. By foregrounding the makers and featured voices, the story became about a growing Southeast Asian motion community.

This allowed the campaign to speak to design media, creative industries and adjacent cultural audiences with a sharper sense of why the platform mattered now.

  1. Name the creative field

Give motion and screen-based practice language that makes the discipline visible without turning it academic.

  2. Lead with the practitioners

Use featured speakers and artists as anchors for a more human regional story.

  3. Build regional relevance

Position the symposium as part of Southeast Asia's wider creative exchange, not a standalone event.

The Work

RUBIX shaped a narrative-led communications approach that introduced PIXORAMA through its people, practice and regional creative energy.

  1. Creative positioning

The narrative framed PIXORAMA as a home for motion storytellers and screen-based creativity across Southeast Asia.

  2. Targeted design outreach

Creative and design media were engaged through angles that spotlighted the symposium's featured speakers, artists and craft.

  3. Regional storytelling

The campaign connected PIXORAMA to a broader conversation about how Southeast Asian visual culture moves across screens.

Outcome

The campaign gave PIXORAMA a clearer public frame as a regional creative platform.

Through focused outreach and stronger narrative positioning, PIXORAMA's speakers, artists and screen-based practice travelled into creative and design media conversations.

The work strengthened the platform's visibility beyond programme details, helping audiences see it as part of Southeast Asia's evolving motion storytelling culture.

Reflection

When a creative field is still forming in public language, communications has to help people name what they are already seeing.

PIXORAMA showed that specialist creative work can become widely understood when the story begins with makers, community and cultural momentum.
